Birthday Cake

My grandpa made the cutest birthday cake for me when I lived with him in 2009. He made cupcakes from a spice cakemix, then drizzled each with home-made icing and sprinkles.

Even more cute than the birthday cake is my grandpa. Seriously, could there be a cuter grandpa?

  3. Dear Mr. Heslop,

I was very excited when I´ve found this site. May I introduce me at first. My name is Christoph Kaufmann and I work at the Museum of History in Leipzig
    (stadtgeschichtliches-museum-leipzig.de).
Some time ago I had the luck to buy two of your photos at ebay. Since the year 2005 we have very intensive reltions with the american liberators of Leipzig and especially with Joe Lipsius of the 69th infantry division who is 93 jears old and we are till today in intensive contact by email. As minimum one mail reachs me weekly from Joe! Since this time we collect very intensive photos from this short but important time. Yesterday was the 66th aniversary of the lberation of Leipzig and the city administration presentet an plaque in honour of the american soldiers. If you would be so kind to cantact me, I could send you images.
I write to you because of an scond reason. Our museum presents at the moment an very big photo-exhibition and we show your photos together with the images of Lee Miller and Robert Capa. I have to hold an lecture about "The images of the winners" next week and I´m very sad, that I´ve found this site so late. Every sentence from you aboout your memories at Leipzig would be extremly important for me.
You can contact me in my office at this adress:

  4. There was a documentary made about the untold stories of the war. My grandpa was featured in it. If you go to the link below you can read the transcripts and probably order the DVD.
